Summary of FACE Objectives
FACE is a Liberian-driven Volunteer initiative aimed at gelling together like-minded colleagues with a passion to protect our children (mainly Girl children) in our local communities from sexual exploitation and abuse CSEA.. Made up of mostly Liberians, FACE has partnered together with some of our international colleagues to lend support to the less fortunate and most vulnerable Children in our communities over the years since its establishment in 2008. We donated over One Thousand US Dollars worth of food and clothing items to an orphanage of 200 children in Paynesville, in July 2009 our Back-to-School project witnessed the distribution of over Three Hundred United States Dollars worth of exercise books and assorted school materials to underprivileged children in Du-port Road, in December 22, 2009 we donated over eight hundred US Dollars worth of food, drugs and clothing items to indigents at the Antoinette Tubman Home.
Recently in December 24, 2010 we again donated over One Thousand US Dollars worth of food, toys, shoes, mattresses and clothing items to less fortunate children in Buchanan and in 2011 over $1,000 US dollars worth of clothing, toys, and shoes to 230 children in Vicent Town, Bomi County. We were the architect and implementers of the “Liberians United for Haiti Benefit Concert” a first of its kind national cause that raised over five thousand US dollars for the victimized people of the Haiti Earthquake as well as donated eight hundred United States dollars for the same Haiti cause. All these programs were initiated by FACE as a strategy to gain the attention of the beneficiaries for the awareness of child sexual exploitation and abuse and self empowerment against it.
We believe in partnering with communities and other like minded organizations to assist in the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals through child empowerment against sexual exploitation and abuse (CSEA).
Foundation for Aiding Children Empowerment (FACE) has chosen to launch the below listed Campaigns as an organizing strategy to call for the elimination of all forms of sexual exploitation and abuse against Children (with emphasis to girls).
a. Raising awareness about Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse at the Local Community and national levels.
b. Strengthening local work around child sexual exploitation and abuse
c. Establishing mechanism to meet the basic needs of poor and vulnerable children through relief distribution.
d. Providing a forum in which organizers can develop and share new and effective strategies to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse in Liberia.
e. Providing a forum in which Adults can develop and share reasonable and effective strategies to eliminate child sexual exploitation and abuse.
f. Establishing mechanism to pressure governments to implement promises made to eliminate sexual exploitation and abuse against children.
g. Establishing a Safe House for victimized children to receive needed support, counseling, education and careers advice and protection.
As you may know, Child sexual exploitation and abuse is unacceptable because it exploits and victimizes the child. It undermines development and is detrimental to physical and emotional health; therefore, it must be STOPPED.
